Incredible Experience

Ten climbers came together from around the world to hike Kilimanjaro for the Strachan Hartley Legacy Foundation in June (and eight of us went on safari afterwards). From logistics to accomodations to pairing us with incredible guides, we all had the trip of a lifetime (and we all summited!).

Great safari...

We felt glad and lucky to gone on our first trip in Africa with African Scenic Safaris, the trip was fantastic and it exceeded our expectations, what more can I say....Everything went without a hitch, I wish to thank Simbo for knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and fun. Also Amanda put together a flawless itinerary and let us have a wonderful and memorable tour - A dream safari which I will carry in my heart forever.

Fantastic Safari!

I've just returned from the 4 day/3 night trip to Lake Manyara, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. My four friends and I had a fantastic time on the trip and we were very impressed by our tour guide, Simbo who really made it an excellent trip. Simbo is very knowledgeable about the parks and the animals and speaks excellent English. He is also a very good driver (and we did see some idiotic driving in the parks and on the roads on the way there) and is very good natured and easy going. We also had a cook on our trip who produced excellent food every night and we got great packed lunches with plenty of food in.

All of the parks we visited were stunning in terms of scenery and we saw loads of animals. Simbo clearly knew the parks and roads very well and did a great job of getting us to see the wildlife. We were pleased with the safari vehicle (Toyota Landcruiser), especially when we saw some other companies using dalla dallas around the park which are not very suitable for the terrain. The top comes off the vehicle to get superb views of the animals.

Simbo was more than happy for us to stop off at Olduvai Gorge (the Cradle of Mankind) on the way there (which is worthwhile) but we were very grateful that he didn't make us stop anywhere else along the way (but he would have been happy for us to do this if we had wanted). In my experience some tour guides will stop at local art shops etc because they can get a cut of anything that is purchased but gratefully there were none of these kinds of stop-offs.

I live and work in Moshi, Tanzania and I hear a lot about tour companies and safaris which operate in Moshi and Arusha and I don't know of anyone that has got such a good safari at this price and I would strongly recommend African Scenic Safaris to anyone.

Safari in Tanzania!

Me, my cousin, and three of her newfound friends went on a safari with these guys in December 2008. I can honestly say that it exceeded our "wildest" expectations! Not only in terms of all the 60 different species we got to see, but the guide/driver and the chef went beyond the call of duty to keep us comfortable and happy. The food was great, the scenery spectacular, the animals were really close by most of the time and when we started to go on about maybe visit a Masai village, our driver just said - Let´s do that then! And we did. Thank you for your patience with us!

I have told everyone that cares to listen, to contact this company if they are thinking about going to Tanzania and even put a link on my traveller-guide homepage. That´s how good they were.

The BEST safari company in Tanzania!
With this being our first trip to Africa, we knew we had to go on a safari when in Tanzania. I feel very lucky to have gone with African Scenic Safari's as Simbo was a fantastic guide. The entire process was easy and seamless, thanks to the behind the scenes work by Amanda. What a great team they are. We went on a 4 day, 3 night safari but after going we realized we would've liked one more day in the Serengeti. I would suggest a 5 day/4night safari :)

While on safari, Simbo was not only helpful and patient but also very knowledgeable. He was not only able to point out the animals but give us great explanations on each animal and other interesting tidbits. He was very organized and timely with our start and end times leaving space for photo opps and lunch breaks. He sat with us at dinner and shared his time and stories each night. He is truly a great guide and made us feel like we were all a group of great friends on this amazing adventure. His love for the animals and showing us his world really engages you. His English is fantastic which made us feel lucky after some of the other stories we've heard from our friends whose guides barely spoke at all!

Omari the cook was always prepared and ready for us when we arrived back at camp. He allowed us to shower and sit down for tea/coffee before bring out the first course. That's right, get ready for 3 course meals, each and every night! Camp food turns into a 5 star restaurant right at your camp!

I would HIGHLY recommend African Scenic Safari's!

Our safari experience.

Going on a safari was a dream of ours and getting the opportunity to experience this with company was absolutely wonderful! Simbo is very knowledgeable, patient, caring, and fun! The food during the trip was fabulous (thanks Omari!). Overall our expectations were completely blown out of the water, and we hope to experience this again somewhere down the line...we will definitely look to sign up again with African Scenic Safaris! Kilimanjaro

Simbo was our guide in 2007 as we hiked through the forest on Mt. Kilimanjaro and stayed at the Kilimanjaro View Lodge. When I was returning to Tanzania to climb to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, I knew that Simbo had to be my guide. In March 2008, Simbo and his friend Antipas guided us on the week-long trek to the highest point in Africa.

Lynn and I would recommend African Scenic Safaris to anyone. We hope to get back to Tanzania soon and go on another safari with Simbo and Amanda.
