Safari Costs :
A Tanzanian safari can be tailored to fit within your budget.
Group Camping Safaris : Perfect if your a single traveler or 2-3 people wanting others to join you and therefore keep the costs as low as possible. Prices start from approx USD$135 per person per day. *
Private Camping Safaris : Perfect if you already have a group of friends together or you are a couple wanting a private camping safari as just the two of you. Prices start from approx USD$135-$220 per person per day depending on how many people.
Group Lodge Safaris : Perfect if you want to stay at a lodge however want to save money and share your safari with others. Prices are very dependent on seasons and which lodges are chosen. Prices starting from USD$250 per person per day. *
Private Lodge Safaris : Perfect if you are a family, group of friends or a couple wanting a once in a lifetime safari. Prices are very dependent on seasons and which lodges are chosen. Contact us for more details.
* For group safaris we will always do our best to find other people to join you. Deposits and any commitment is not required until we confirm other people on your trip.
Safari price inclusions :
Park fees, camping fees/accommodation, all game drives, transport in a Toyota Landcruiser, all food, drinking water and if doing a camping safari all camping equipment (including sleeping bags if you don't have your own). All safaris are operated using a Toyota Landcruiser with pop up roof so you can stand and view the animals.
Safari additional costs :
* Tipping to your driver/guide : the recommended is minimum tsh10,000 (approx USD$7) per person per day.
* Camping safari : tipping to your cook, the recommended is minimum tsh5,000 (approx USD$3.50) per person per day.
* Lodge safari : drinks and items of personal nature at the lodges
Kilimanjaro costs :
Kilimanjaro costs depend on which route you wish to climb, the amount of days and how many people are within your group.
An example of cost : Machame route 6 days is USD$1200 per person
Kilimanjaro price inclusions :
Park fees, camping fees, rescue fees, transport to/from park entry gate ex Moshi, head guide, assistant guide/s, cook, porters, all food and tents. It is important to us to adhere to the Porters Association rules and all guides, cooks and porters are paid a salary through African Scenic Safaris.
Kilimanjaro additional costs :
* Tipping to your guides, porters and cook. The recommended for this is USD$20 head guide per day, USD$15 per assistant guide per day, USD$15 per cook per day & USD$10 per porter per day. This can be split between each person in the group.
* Hiring any additional clothing, walking poles, sleeping bags, sleeping mats etc. Upon booking we will provide an equipment hiring price list and upon arrival in Moshi we will check over any clothing/equipment you have.
Payments :
* Camping safari or Kilimanjaro deposit requirements : a deposit of USD$100pp is payable upon booking.
* Lodge safari deposits will be calculated at time of booking based on conditions by the lodge.
* Final payments : this can be made via bank transfer or in cash upon arrival (USD or Tanzanian shillings). Please note US dollar notes printed prior to 2001 are not accepted anywhere in Tanzania.
* Paypal is available for small deposits only.
