Zanzibar is one of the most famous beach destinations of Africa. It is the jewel of the Indian Ocean offering paradise and everything island dreams are made of.

There are some spectacular beaches on the island, with pristine white sands and clean blue ocean water. These beaches are lined with resorts, from the south, all the way up the east coast and to the northern tip of the island.

It is the perfect relaxing end to your Tanzania experience after climbing Kilimanjaro.

 

 

Option 1: Zanzibar – To Secure a space for this option, please book before May 31st, 2019. 


Day 1: This morning you will depart Moshi very early and commence the journey to Dar es Salaam (the largest city in Tanzania). Your expected driving time is a 9-11 hour bus ride. Arriving in the mid afternoon, you will be taken to the ferry terminal, where you will catch a large ferry across to the island of Zanzibar. This ferry will take approx 2 hours and you will be escorted by a local, English speaking guide. Upon arrival on Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred to Palumbo Beach Resort.

 

Days 2 – 7: Full days to enjoy the resort, bar & ocean. You can simply relax in the resort following your exploits on Kilimanjaro or choose from the varied optional excursions the resort has to offer as listed below.

 

Day 8: This morning you will be transferred back to the ferry terminal and your ferry to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival you will be transferred to Dar es Salaam airport ready for your return flight home.

Option 2: Safari & Zanzibar – To Secure a space for this option, please book before May 31st, 2019.

 

Day 1: Moshi – After breakfast you will travel to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s largest national parks and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs and up to six thousand elephants. Enjoy your afternoon game drive. Overnight camping within Tarangire National Park

 

Day 2: Tarangire - Moshi
This morning you will enjoy more game viewing before commencing your drive back to Moshi. Expected driving time between Moshi and Tarangire is approx 3-4 hours each way.

Day 3: Moshi – Zanzibar
This morning you will depart Moshi very early and commence the journey to Dar es Salaam (the largest city in Tanzania). Your expected driving time is 9-11 hours by bus. *Spice Tour ($25 per person)
No trip is complete without a visit to one of the island’s notable spice farms. Awaken your senses as you surround yourself among these expansive plantations filled with varieties of spices. Enjoy a sensual insight of ginger, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper and cloves, and how they are used for traditional and modern medicines and cosmetics, and their influence on the local cuisine.

 

*Safari Blue ($45 per person full day)
The quiet sea and balmy breezes will relax your spirit, as you sail around this beautiful island. Enjoy a variety of cool drinks and speciality snacks, and hopefully be lucky enough to spot dolphins playfully jumping through the clear waters. The beautiful red glow of the sunset on the horizon radiates against the turquoise sea creating mesmerizing views and memories only imaginable in your dreams.

 

*Jozani Forest ($35 per person half day)
This ranger guided walking tour is an excellent introduction to Zanzibar’s only national park, Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, southeast of Stone Town. Explore the lush flora and fauna of the forest’s nature trail, where you can hope to spot troops of its most famous resident, the Red Colobus Monkey as well as Bush Babies, Sykes Monkeys, Bush Pigs and a wide variety of butterflies and birds.

 

*Mnemba ($45 per person full day)
Surrounded by a coral atoll, swimming and snorkelling can be enjoyed directly from the beach. Fantastic diving with great coral reefs and sheer wall dives are found here where guests can admire the colourful underwater world.

 

*Prison Island ($45 per person full day)
While it never actually housed any prisoners and eventually became a quarantine station for yellow fever it is now best known as a sanctuary for the lovable Aldabra Giant Tortoises. In 1919 the British governor of Seychelles gifted the original 4 iconic residents to the island, and today remains a dedicated foundation to look after these gentle giants. Enjoy lunch and the rest of the day swimming or snorkelling around the sandbars. Just a quick 30-minute boat trip from Stone Town.

 

*Swim with Dolphins ($30 half day)
Dolphin safari offers you the experience of a lifetime, a chance to swim with dolphins in their natural habitat. The seashore of the fishing village Kizimkazi is the home of several pods of humpback and bottlenose dolphins.
