Ever thought of volunteering in Africa? Immerse yourself in the lifestyle and culture, whilst assisting the local community?
Amanda first came to Tanzania as a volunteer and in 2010 took over ownership of Hostel Hoff, a local volunteering hostel.
Hostel Hoff opened with the belief that if you want to volunteer you shouldn't have to pay high prices for the experience, therefore accommodation is kept at a minimum to allow this as an affordable option for anyone. This is a fantastic way to get to the grass routes of helping the community and an experience, which will stay with you forever.
Location: Town of Moshi, Northern Tanzania

The cost of staying at Hostel Hoff is between USD$19-$21 per night which includes accommodation, breakfast, dinner & laundry daily. The volunteering aspect is free - as it should be.
You have the opportunity to work at orphanages, schools, vocational training centres, women's groups, centres for children with disabilities, hospitals, community development projects and environmental conservation projects. There is a minimum 1 month stay which is to ensure all volunteers are truly valuable to the project they work in. Internships are also available.
Whilst you are volunteering, you won’t forget the array of activities that can be done in Tanzania. On weekends or before/after your volunteering, you will find volunteers going on safari, climbing Kilimanjaro, travelling to Zanzibar or doing one of many day trips in the Moshi region.
Volunteering in Africa is an amazing experience and allows you to get a great feel for the country and the local people. It can be a life changing experience.
