Details Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival

This morning you will depart Moshi very early and commence the journey to Dar es Salaam (the largest city in Tanzania). Your expected driving time is 9–11-hour bus ride. Arriving in the mid afternoon, you will be taken to the ferry terminal, where you will catch a large ferry across to the island of Zanzibar. This ferry will take approx 2 hours and you will be escorted by a local, English-speaking guide. Upon arrival on Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred to Palumbo Beach Resort.

DAY 2 - 7

Full days to enjoy the resort, bar & ocean. (On Day 3 you will have Stone Town Tour organized)

DAY 8

Chilling at the lodge till time to be transferred at the airport for your flight back home in the evening.

  • One way transport Moshi-Dar es Salaam including English speaking guide.
  • Ferry transport Dar es Salaam-Zanzibar including English speaking guide.
  • Transfer vehicle from ferry terminal-Palumbo Reef Resort.

  • One way flight from Kilimanjaro Airport to Zanzibar price is $290 per person (airline luggage allowance is 23kgs per person, $4 will be charged for each extra kilo) if you wish to upgrade from the bus transport.

Details Itinerary

Day 1 - Moshi

After breakfast, you will travel to Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s largest national parks and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area.

There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs and up to six thousand elephants. Enjoy your afternoon game drive.

Overnight camping within Tarangire National Park.

Day 2 - Tarangire - Moshi

This morning you will enjoy more game viewing before commencing your drive back to Moshi.

The expected driving time between Moshi and Tarangire is approximately 3-4 hours each way.

Overnight Kili Eco Hostel in Moshi

Day 3- Moshi to Zanzibar (Stone Town Tour)

This morning you will depart Moshi at 1:00 am and commence the journey to Dar es Salaam (the largest city in Tanzania). Your expected driving time is a 9–11-hour bus.

Arriving in the mid-afternoon, you will be taken to the ferry terminal, where you will catch a large ferry across to the island of Zanzibar. This ferry will take approx. 2 hours and you will be escorted by a local, English-speaking guide.

Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met and taken on an organized Stone Town tour, where you will explore the rich history, culture, and architecture of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

After the tour, you will be transferred to Palumbo Beach Resort.

DAY 4 - 7

Full days to enjoy the resort, bar & ocean. (On Day 5 you will have the Full Day Stone Town Tour organized)

DAY 8

Chilling at your lodge till time to be transferred to the airport for your flight back home in the evening.

This extension is flexible, exciting, and packed with possibilities. But we know you probably have questions about transport, timing, activities, and how the options differ. Below, we’ve listed the most frequently asked questions to help you plan the perfect post-trek adventure, whether you choose Zanzibar, a safari, or both.

The trip starts with a beautiful 9–11-hour bus ride from Moshi to Dar es Salaam. Along the way, you can see Tanzania's beautiful scenery and people going about their daily lives. When you get there, someone will take you to the ferry port. The ride across the turquoise water to Zanzibar is two hours long. A local guide who speaks English will be with you the whole time, and a private transfer will take you straight to your beach resort.

In this option, you can enjoy both nature and rest. It includes a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park and a night spent sleeping in the bush. The next day, you'll go back to Moshi and take a bus to Zanzibar. Follow a knowledgeable tour guide through Stone Town's long past. Then, take it easy at a beach resort for a few days. Transfers, park fees, events, and lodging are all covered, making the trip easy and fun.

It depends on what you like. The beach break in Zanzibar is perfect if you need to rest and recharge after the climb. A 2–5 day tour is the perfect way for animal lovers to get to know the bush. The combo choice lets you see the wild side of Tanzania before going to the island for sun and sea, if you want to have both an exciting and relaxing time. We will help you choose the best one for your time, effort, and money.

The usual option includes a stay at Palumbo Beach Resort, but we can change the accommodations to suit your tastes if you'd rather stay in a boutique lodge or something cheaper..
